Men and women are dissimilar in numerous ways. They often think in a different way and behave another way. Physiologically there are also some differences which means dieting results vary between the genders. However, while women tend to turn to unhealthy methods to lose weight, men are more prone to lose weight and keep it off forever by taking a more sensible approach to weight loss. Combining a healthy well balanced diet with regular exercise which includes weight training helps them achieve their goals, and that’s something that women can learn from men.
1 – Weight training is good for you. Men aren’t fearful of pumping a bit of iron. They spend hours in the gym to work their muscles and diminish body fat. They get big. That’s what many women are afraid of, that if they train with weights they are going to start looking like bodybuilders. Not true. Weight training isn’t going to make women’s muscles start bulging out, they don’t have the natural tendency for that. Weight training is important to build healthy strong bones, increase muscle mass and give the body a toned appearance, and help burn fat when you’re not actually working out.
2 – It’s okay to eat without food you’re not going to be able to lose weight. It’s like your fire won’t burn if you don’t keep putting in wood or coal. Food is the fuel for your body and in order to lose weight you have to eat a certain amount of calories every day. These calories need to be eaten at regular intervals throughout the course of the day. Missing breakfast and then having a huge lunch and dinner isn’t going to work. Divide the calories you consume into about six meals for best results. Men aren’t afraid to eat when they are losing weight. Women unfortunately try to restrict themselves completely.
3 – Allow yourself some leg room. No carbohydrates. No fat. No sweets. No coffee. No going out. Boring. How in the world are you going to manage to stay away from everything and survive. Men don’t take away themselves of everything that they enjoy, they simply control what they eat by knowing when it’s okay to have a snack and when it isn’t. What women can learn from men about weight loss is that it’s not about a short term fix where you eat nothing you like for a few weeks or months and then go back to your old eating habits. Weight loss is about creating a new relationship with food.
